Moab has had 1 Covid-19 case, so they are going to open up lodging places on May 1st. Not sure about dine-in restaurants and the shops. But we are not going there for that! 😆
The trails have been open the whole time. If you are curious about cost please ask. We have been twice. There are trails for everyone and by passes. We do NOT go on the “hard” trails unless we had a group that was equipped too. We have a trail book and sit around in the evening and watch YouTube videos to pick trails we want to go on. Some trails take 2-3 hrs and some take 5-6 hours. The long trails we just pack a lunch and snacks. Others we ride more challenging trails in the morning, then ride scenic ones after lunch. 99% of the trails are free!! There is 1 area with I believe 3 or 4 trails in there and it cost $10 for a week pass! Besides that riding is FREE! We do hit the trail early because the sun is up by 6am, it does get alittle warm by 11am but NO humidity!
The last time we left on a Saturday morning at 7:30am and slept in a hotel just past Kansas City and made it to Moab by midnight Sunday, rode trails until Friday and started heading back!
There are other things to do if you want to take a break from the trails, like white water rafting, kayaking, there is a cool dinner history boat ride in the Colorado River also and there is a old ghost mining town! Oh and the La Sal Mountains that even had snow on them in July when it was 104 in the valley!

The earliest reservation would be May 26th- May 31st price to say where we have stayed range from $510(1 queen and bunk bed set) to a cabin that sleeps 6 (1-queen, 1- double, set of bunk beds) for $626. These do not have bathrooms in the cabins but there is a very large nice bath house. The one we stay in has a bathroom and it has a queen bed and bunk bed for $786 and now they have a new one that has 1- double bed and a bathroom for $775.
Moab Valley RV Resort & campground. They do have primitive camping areas and RV slots also!

And those are just the earliest dates. So who is serious about taking this trip of a life time since we have been all cooped up? It’s “social distancing” at it’s finest!!!!
