Title: E-Brake Question 98 TJ
Post by: Demented on August 10, 2020, 08:44:34 pm
Okay, my boyfriend came over and did a brake job for me. When he was adjusting the emergency brake, the passenger side worked like it was supposed to but, the driver side did not. We could see the mechanism move but only the lower half of the shoe would move but not the upper part. All new hardware in the rear and everything was cleaned before the installation. Could it be the cable itself is stretched out?  I did not have much of an e-brake before the new brakes and that situation remains the same. Everything was installed correctly and my brakes work great otherwise.

Google/YouTube TJ e brake adjustment. Each side can be adjusted separately. TJ e brakes suck but with some patience and fine tuning you should be able to get it. Get familiar with how the mechanisms work, take note of the side that is working correctly and watch some videos. Good luck.
