Front suspension
« on: January 16, 2015, 07:37:14 PM »
So, lindseys MJ is getting a 5.5"-6.5" lift and a 4 link on the back. I am curious how I should do the front?

Possibilities:

Long arms
Short arms (just kidding)
Radius arms (lower long arms with uppers attached to the lower arm)
3 link

Any suggestions? I plan on stretching the axle forward 1.5-3" and putting upgraded steering components on as well.

3 Link with pan hard, put your upper link on the right side to stay clear of the drive shaft. Also go a head and plate the front and mid section on the uni-frame.

Good advice on keeping the upper link to the right side, Richard also mentioned playing the front. I bought 3/16 to plate the unibody.

So do you recommend the ruff stuff kit?

How do you determine if you need a frame inside/outside mount and a axle centered/offset mount?

Not sure offhand on last question.
As for plating I highly recommend HD Offroad, Brian is a great guy to deal with.

Frame inside/outside is the frame side track bar bracket. You will want frame outside. Axle centered or offset is the axle side track bar mount. You will want the offset.
