End of my rope
« on: August 17, 2017, 09:07:43 PM »
Ive done everything I can think of. Ball joints are good, tie rod, drag link replaced, alignment, rotate and balance, played with tire pressure. Rotors and pads x4. All to no avail.  I'm at my wit's end. Front end still isn't right. Still has a shimmy, bad at times. Tired of throwing money at this thing. It's quickly becoming not fun. Any ideas? Time to trade it in for a Prius?

Swap rims/tires with your daughter's......
Test drive to see if it disappears ?
It would only cost sweat to rule out bent rim or egged tire.....

I could try swapping wheels/tires with Megan, good idea. I've never messed with the steering box, let alone mesh. I'll try the tire swap first I guess.

2.5" Teraflex, no control arm or track bar changes. I do remember a post in the old tech forum a out the track bar bolt being too small.

Did the kit come with any brackets to adjust the track bar position?  Check to see if your axles are centered while you are at it to see if that has anything to do with the pulling.

could bad/worn shocks cause this?
when you did lift, did you relocate mounts or get longer shocks?
just throwout my thoughts....

The lift came with shocks. I put Megan's tires/wheels on. Smooth as silk. Well, as smooth as a lifted Jeep with big tires can be expected to ride. Put my stuff back on, same crap. Just had a R&B past week. It's obvious the tires and of wheels are the culprit. What should I tell Paul at discount?
