I can. I won't be able to go to the trip but I can help plan.

Food for thought -- there's a groupon out for this. It's $8/pp and includes the tube, life jacket and shuttle. It's the outfitter at Amerson.

So, what does everyone want to do?  An all day tube or just a couple of hours?

Dames ferry to popes ferry is a half day float, 3-5 hrs. The river moves a little quicker and is cleaner up there. The problem with that float is everyone has to park at popes ferry and then be gophered up to dames ferry (about a 10 minute drive). Whoever does the gophering cannot float because there's nowhere to park up there (they have put no parking signs about 3 miles in both directions).

We have a minivan and my wife should be off that day if I remember right. If someone wants to sweet talk her into gophering, she might be willing to. It's not far from the house.

As far as the amerson float goes, it's going to be a little more crowded, the river is shallower so expect to drag your ass on the bottom if the river is low, and if the river isn't low, it's going to be a very short float. Probably an hour or less. I've never used the tubing company, but the tubes aren't much more expensive than 1 tubing trip with that company. I also have a two person figure 8 float that someone is welcome to borrow. If you do buy floats, go to academy and buy the blue and white river rat floats, don't get the black ones because they're thin walled and will pop, and also scald you when left out in the sun. Mine have been through a dozen or more occmulgee floats and a few trips to the ocean and are doing fine.

I am not sure if I will be able to do this one. I have to work for 2 hours Saturday day and I have some foot surgery action going on Thursday. May not be the best idea to have my foot wet in the river. I dont want any infection. omnomnom   omnomnom   omnomnom

For those of you thinking about buying your own tubes, we got some great ones at Academy yesterday. Both tubes and a cooler float were all $12.99 each.

I have gorilla tape, we'll make sure no river water gets in there!

So, anyone else interested?  Still working on our transportation from Popes Ferry to Dames Ferry.  What time is everyone thinking about?
