Anyone coming up in the fall? Looks like 2 cool events a week apart.

September 22-24, Appalachian Rendezvous by American Adventurist in Uwharrie.

Option to camp for entire week included prior to following weekend.

September 29 - Oct 1, Overland Expo East at the Biltmore in Asheville.

I am planning to go to both and would love to see some WRJC folks there.
I prefer a 4.0 in my Jeep since I have the minivan to go fast and get good gas mileage.

I might be down for something different.  What might you be driving Brian, once you sell the WJ?
Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

Made a handshake deal on the WJ this morning. Hopeful that goes through when the bank opens on monday. Currently driving a 97 Lexus LX450, aka 80 Series Toyota Land Cruiser, aka FZJ80. Solid axles and an I6 motor make it familiar but the 3rd row seat fits all the kids better.

I missed the Overland Expo the past 2 years. Oscar was there for 2015 as a volunteer and I was set to go but the 2 weeks of rain shut down the festivities when parked vehicles started mud surfing down hills. The flooding made national news when the other half of SC was underwater (we had one fatality in my town).  For 2016 we had a hurricane impact FL up through the  NC coast and work called.

The reports make it look like a great time with good training and comaradery. Hopefully the weather cooperates.

Some gorgeous territory around there. I live where taxes are cheaper but end up spending a good bit of off time in the NC side. Just driving on the Blue Ridge parkway is enough to fill up the memory on your phone with all the photo ops. The Sierra Nevada brewery is a great place to cool off too.

BTW, I keep seeing a yellow/black JK with Rubiclone decal. Seems familiar. Any idea?

Lots of nice Jeeps there. May be the first ZJ with a roof top tent I have seen. Largest concentration of Rovers I have ever been around and they didn't baby them. Overland Expo this week. Let me know if you are going.

Expo = Bikes and Rovers!  Lots of Jeeps too and waaay too much stuff calling for my credit card. Pretty cool event.

Definitely worth going back to Appalachian Rendezvous next year and hope to see you there. May skip Expo since it is more about the gear, though lots of good classes.
